If you have been visiting my site for some time, you may know my love for the brand Vieve. From the moment Jamie Genevieve announced that she was releasing her own brand, I knew it was going to be a slice of me. I love her style; I love her looks and I always love her recommendations.
So far, I have supported every single one of her launches and I am yet to find a product that I don’t love. Which is why when she brought out a range of blushes, I knew that I had to go ahead and pick some up for myself. So, without further rambling, here is my review of the Vieve Sunset Blush.
Why I wanted the Vieve Sunset Blushes.
I have never really been a blush person. I have always been much more bronzer than blush. Which is great, but sometimes I found that I was overdoing the bronzer because I felt like I needed more colour. When blush could have done what I wanted in a much lighter and more natural way than pounds of bronzer. But beyond that, I was yet to find a blush that I adored. So, it was a no brainer to go ahead and give this a whirl for myself.
The packaging.
One thing that I have mentioned in a negative light with Vieve in general is their packaging. As you can see from the image, the blush is situated in a small pan. The packaging itself if constructed of a thick cardboard which is covered in a black ‘leather-like’ fabric. Some people state that it doesn’t feel very luxe, but I disagree. But beyond that, it makes it great for travelling because it is all super sleek and lightweight. Plus, I would rather the price of my products be slightly lower than just pay for the overpriced packaging.
The shade ranges.
In the range of Vieve Sunset Blushes, there are around 8 different shades. Or there was the last time I looked. The great thing about Vieve is that from the very start of the brand, they have catered for different skin tones. I have a pretty medium/tan skin and in so many different brands, even their deepest blush is too light and ashy on my skin. However, within this range there are some truly stunning deeper shades that would look amazing on wonderful rich skin tones.
How they last.
Like with most people, I always find that blush doesn’t last on me. I can apply it in a morning and within an hour or two, I feel like it has fully faded from my skin. To be honest, that is one of the main reasons why I gave up with blush some time ago. What was the point of applying it if it wasn’t going to last? Surely that was just like adding a pointless layer. But I am very happy that with this Vieve Sunset Blush, it lasts very well. It does fade a little, bit it is still noticeable that the skin has a slightly flush to it. Which is more than can be said for other blush products.
How they compare to other items.
Since I have been trying to use more blush, I have tried a few different brands. Some of them include Charlotte Tilbury, Laura Mercier, Hourglass, Nars and many more. To begin with, I didn’t know that there was that much that could set blush apart. But to reference my point above, it is all about how they last on the skin. When I think about the Vieve Sunset Blushes in comparison to the items above, I am thrilled with how they compared. For a lower price than some of the blushes mentioned, you get a longer lasting blush. That for me is perfect and makes these well worth the money.
