My Top 8 Glowing Foundations

If you have been visiting my site for some time, you may know that I am a sucker for foundation. Always have been and no doubt always will be. I love how transformative a foundation can be on the skin and for somebody with pigmentation, it is a game changer. That is why whenever a new one comes on the market; I have to get my paws on it and give it a try. Because of that, I now have countless foundations in my collection. Which is why today I am going to share with you my favourites. These are my top 8 glowing foundations.

Fenty Hydrating Foundation.

When I think of the hydrating and glowing foundations in my collection, this always springs to mind. I mean, how could it not? When I first tried this, I didn’t really know what to expect, but I didn’t quite think it would be as amazing as it is. For me, I love that this is a glowing, medium coverage base. It makes it ideal for everyday use and it never feels heavy or thick on the skin. A true favourite in every sense of the word and I always love how my skin looks when I use this product.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation.

Surely you didn’t think that I could write this post without mentioning this cult classic. I have adored this foundation for near on 15 years. Following that first video of Mario doing Kim Kardashians makeup, I knew that I had to try this. The rest has been history. If you ever want a good foundation that will always look amazing, this is the foolproof item that you need to buy. Over the years I have probably gone through at least 20 bottles of this Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, which I think just shows how much I truly adore this item.

Nars Radiant Longwear Foundation.

I have never made any secret that I have a deep love for Nars base products. I’m sure that it is no surprise that I am mentioning it in this post about glowing foundations. I take this foundation and dot it around my face using my finger. Then when that is distributed pretty evenly, I will take my damp beauty blender and work it into the skin. What I am left with is the most natural looking and truly glowing base. Out of these 8 products I don’t want to pick a favourite, but this is pretty close to the top.

It Cosmetics CC Serum.

Because this product is deemed a CC Serum, for years I gave it the swerve. I like to have pretty heavy coverage to hide my pigmentation damage and I just didn’t think that this could cut it. But then I got a free sample in one of my Sephora orders and I knew that I had to get the full size. My favourite thing about this foundation is without a doubt how comfortable it is on the skin. As the name suggests, this is a very hydrating product that almost feels like a moisturizer on the skin.

Anastasia Hydrating Foundation.

Beyond the glowing properties of this foundation, I love this because of the shade range. The thing that I really love is that even the medium tones don’t pull too orange. If you have a mid-tone skin like me, you will get a good shade of any foundation, but generally they oxidize by the end of the day. This can cause the foundation to look a completely different shade to what you applied hours earlier and usually it is very warm. The shade that I use in this Anastasia Hydrating foundation always stays true to colour, while looking beautiful and luminous on the skin.

Dior Backstage Foundation.

Any base product that Dior makes, I have to try out. So, when the Backstage range came out a couple of years ago, I got my hands on all of it. The standout product to me was without a doubt this amazing Dior Backstage Foundation. The thing that I really adore about this foundation beyond the glow, is how fuss free it is. With minimal effort, this product is applied, buffed and set. So low maintenance, yet I always find that it looks perfect. Both in real life and in photographs. This is the foundation that I recommend to most people.

Pat McGrath Skin Fetish Foundation.

For a long time, I didn’t try this foundation. Yet here it is in my favourite glowing foundations. The thing that put me off was that I didn’t think it would be right for me. I am a medium to full coverage kind of girl. I was seeing this product applied in wonderful, natural methods and it simply deterred me from trying. In the end, I decided that I needed to put that to one side and just try it. In the end, I kicked myself that I didn’t try it sooner. The glow and luminosity that this gives the skin is almost unrivalled.

Shiseido Skin Refresh Foundation.

This is one of my latest additions to my collection and by a mile it is one of my favourites. When this was first released and I saw it mentioned online, I never thought it would be as good as it actually is. But I was wrong. The look, feel and texture of this foundation makes it simply amazing. I adore using this and I feel like my skin has never been more complimented since I first started to use this. I don’t think this will ever reach cult status. But I think all makeup lovers should get their hands on this and give it a try.
