My Favourite Cult Fashion Movies

As I am sure many of you are aware, I am a sucker for fashion. I have been the same since I was a very little kid. My love for fashion and the finer things in life has only intensified the older that I have gotten. To help feed my obsession with fashion, I often turn to movies to help scratch that itch that I have to indulge in all things fabulous and fashion. In this post I am going to share with you guys the movies that are the best of the best. In this post, I am going to try and only mention (semi) recent movies. Further down the line I may have to do another post with the old school cult fashion movies that I love.

Clueless.

This was my favourite movie when I was a child. When it was first released, I was only 1 year old. But as I grew up, my older sister would watch this movie on repeat. That is where my love for Cher, fashion and the iconic Paul Rudd came from. I am still longing for a day when I have Cher’s iconic closet. I feel like it will be here one day soon. We’re in 2023, surely it must be on the horizon!

Devil Wears Prada.

Growing up, I always wanted to work in the Vogue office because of this cult fashion movie. I think it would have put other people off, but in my case it only made me want to get a job at Vogue even more. I wanted to work in that bitchy environment, to be judged for the huge meals that I eat and to get to raid the Vogue closet. I feel like this has quickly become on of my go to movies that I watch when I want comfort and familiarity.

Oceans 8.

When this movie came out, I lost my shit. It combined everything that I adored about the original Ocean 11 movie, but with gorgeous women and high fashion. Not to mention, it is centred around the MET Gala which is the pinnacle of the fashion calendar. From the first time I watched it, I bloody adored it. Straight away, this movie became one of my favourite cult fashion movies and I get so many people watching it. I just want to be Rihanna in this movie.

Pretty Woman.

I think more than the fashion in this movie, it is the delivery. It is how Julia Roberts plays her iconic character that makes this a cult classic fashion movie. The way she struts into the fancy store in her thigh high boots and dress with amazing cut out detail. Everything is iconic and I don’t know a single woman that has watched this movie and not fallen in love with it. I mean, isn’t it all what we want? A rich man to sweep us off our feet!

Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

This is the most vintage movie that I am going to mention in this post. But it isn’t one that I could miss out of this line up. I mean, how could I not mention this movie when Audrey Hepburn wears that iconic Givenchy black dress to eat her croissant outside Tiffany’s. This was probably the first fashion movie that I ever watched and it started a love affair. I have watched this movie countless times and it never seems to get old.

Sex and the City.

The last movie that I need to mention in this post is of course the Sex and the City movie. This is of course a classic cult fashion movie and one that I love to this day. I think even thought the fashion worn in these movies isn’t something that  would wear, there is something so amazing about seeing them characters in those outfits. Plus, you then look back from the movie, back to the show and there are so many iconic fashion movies.

As always, I hope you guys enjoyed reading this post on my favourite cult fashion movies. If you are anything like me, I am sure you will be very familiar with the movies mentioned in this post. If not, I highly recommend you go ahead and check them out. If you have any other cult classic fashion movies that you love, make sure to leave me a comment below. Share them with me and I will be sure to check them out for myself. I love seeing new things and falling in love with iconic looks, regardless of the year that the movie was released!
